Do I Need an Account?

For Buyers: No! You can browse products and make purchases as a guest. However, creating an account gives you:

  • Easy access to download your purchased files anytime
  • Order history and license certificates
  • Ability to follow creators and get notifications
  • Leave reviews on products you've purchased

For Creators: Yes, you must create an account to sell products on Sola.

💡 Guest Checkout: Buyers can check out without an account, but an account is automatically created for you after purchase so you can access your downloads.

Sign Up Methods

Option 1: Google OAuth (Recommended)

The fastest way to get started:

  1. Click "Sign in with Google" on the login page
  2. Choose your Google account
  3. Grant Sola permission to access your email and profile
  4. Complete your profile (display name)
  5. Start browsing or creating!

Option 2: Email & Password

Prefer to use email? Here's how:

  1. Click "Sign Up" on the login page
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Create a secure password (minimum 8 characters)
  4. Enter a display name
  5. Click "Create Account"
  6. Check your email to verify your account

Profile Completion

After signing up, you'll be prompted to complete your profile:

Required Information:

  • Display Name: How your name appears on the site (can be changed later)
  • Age Confirmation: You must be 18 or older to use Sola
  • Terms Acceptance: Agree to Terms of Service and Privacy Policy

Age Requirement (COPPA Compliance)

Sola requires all users to be at least 18 years old to comply with COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) and ensure a safe marketplace for financial transactions.

⚠️ Important: By creating an account, you confirm that you are 18 years of age or older. Accounts found to be in violation will be immediately suspended.

During sign up, you must agree to:

For Creators

  • Enable creator mode by setting a shop name
  • Accept additional legal terms and DMCA compliance
  • Connect your Stripe Standard account for payouts
  • Upload your first product

Account Security

Password Best Practices

  • Use at least 8 characters (longer is better)
  • Include uppercase and lowercase letters
  • Add numbers and special characters
  • Don't reuse passwords from other sites
  • Consider using a password manager

Protecting Your Account

  • Never share your password with anyone
  • Log out on shared or public computers
  • Update your password regularly
  • Watch for phishing emails (Sola will never ask for your password via email)

Troubleshooting

Email already exists

If you see this error, you may have already created an account. Try:

  • Logging in with Google if you used Google OAuth
  • Resetting your password if you used email/password
  • Checking for typos in your email address

Didn't receive verification email

  • Check your spam/junk folder
  • Wait a few minutes (email can be delayed)
  • Request a new verification email from the login page
  • Ensure you entered the correct email address
