Uploading Products to Sola

Before You Upload

Make sure you have:

• Creator account - Stripe connected and legal terms accepted
• Product files ready - The digital files buyers will download
• Preview images - Showcase your product (recommended: 3-6 images)
• Product information - Title, description, category, tags
• Pricing decided - Know what to charge for each license tier

Draft vs. Published Workflow

Sola uses a two-state system for products:

Step 1: Basic Information

Product Title

• Required field - Cannot be blank
• Maximum 100 characters
• Be descriptive: Include what it is, style, and use case
• Good example: "Watercolor Floral Wedding Invitation Template"
• Bad example: "Design 1" or "My Template"

Description

• Maximum 2,000 characters
• Explain what's included in the download
• Describe file types and formats
• List dimensions, colors, or specifications
• Mention any software requirements
• Highlight unique features or benefits

Step 2: Category & Tags

Select Category

Choose the category that best fits your product:

• Main category: Graphics, Templates, Fonts, etc.
• Subcategory: Narrow it down (e.g., Graphics → Watercolor)
• Theme (optional): Christmas, Wedding, Minimalist, etc.

Add Tags

Tags help buyers find your product:

• Add up to 10 relevant tags
• Use lowercase for consistency
• Include style keywords: "vintage," "modern," "minimalist"
• Include file types: "png," "svg," "pdf"
• Include use cases: "wedding," "business," "social media"

Step 3: Upload Images (Previews)

Showcase your product with high-quality preview images:

• Image 1: Main product shot (this is your thumbnail)
• Image 2-3: Close-ups of details or variations
• Image 4-5: Usage examples or mockups
• Image 6: What's included graphic or file preview
• Drag to reorder: Rearrange images anytime

Step 4: Upload Product Files

These are the actual files buyers will download after purchase:

File Naming Best Practices

• Use clear, descriptive names: "WeddingInvitation_Template.pdf"
• Include file type in the name for clarity
• Avoid spaces (use underscores or hyphens)
• Use version numbers if applicable: "Design_v2.png"

Step 5: Set Pricing & Licenses

Choose which license tiers to offer and set prices:

You don't have to offer all tiers! Choose only the licenses that make sense for your product.

Step 6: Freebie Options

Want to offer your product for free? You have options:

Always Free

• Free forever, no expiration
• Great for building an audience
• Requires email opt-in to claim

Time-Limited Free

• Set start and end dates
• Creates urgency with countdown timer
• Perfect for promotions and launches
• Reverts to paid after expiration (if you set prices)

Reserve-Exclusive Freebie

• Only Sola Reserve subscribers can claim
• Great way to support the community
• Drives Reserve subscriptions
• You can still sell to non-subscribers

Step 7: Publish or Save as Draft

Once you've filled in all required fields:

Need to make changes after publishing? No problem:

1. Go to Creator Dashboard → My Listings
2. Click "Edit" on the product
3. Make your changes
4. Click "Update" to save
5. Changes go live immediately
